I'm puzzled about this - I don't think we've removed a thread? Which one? We are not removing threads we don't wish to read. As far as I know we have only ever removed one message in this forum and no complete threads. I emailed the person who posted the message to explain. I'm sorry if any bad impression was given by us removing a post. There is no intention to suppress debate. However, web site maintainers can be sued for some types of content. There is more information on this question on the web, for example the UK Association of online publishers and particularly http://www.ukaop.org.uk/cgi-bin/docs.pl/115/Defamation%20section.doc What should our policy be? Currently it is: "You are not allowed to post material which is in breach of copyright, offensive, abusive or libellous. We reserve the right to remove any such posting without stating a reason." I have received feedback from a few individuals who are unhappy about some of the [few] negative messages. Is there anything we should be doing about that? |

I have been following a certain thread on this forum with interest (as have many others) and now see it has been removed It says on the front page of the forum "Please note, this is a public message board and shared by different driving clubs. Messages here represent the opinions and views of their authors and do not represent or constitute official statements from anyone or any club except where clearly signed as such." Why are the Moderators removing the threads that they do not wish to read? |
