I would like to add my thanks to John and Sue Lloyd and all The Chester Team for an absolutely fantastic weekend. What a sport this is- even when you get eliminated ( brain transplant ordered before Henbury!!- good horse, shame about the driver) you still end up having a whale of a time! Once again thank you Chester Driving Trials Group. |

Great to see a post from you Geoff as I know it's been a while since you have been out and about. I was at this event yesterday and agree that it a super venue - there was even a practice/warm up arena for the dressage!! I would suggest that if any drivers out there want to compete with a friendly, helpful and welcoming club they look out for the Chester's event dates next year - although we do still have the last event of the season - complete with party- at Henbury 5/6 September. Whilst many people have been glued to their computer screens watching the results come in from Greven 40 lucky competitors enjoyed the Chester Groups event at the brand new, never been driven, site at Lanymynech. This is west of Shrewsbury and about 12 miles south of Erddig. This site is used for ridden Xcountry and lends itself admirably to driving. The views of the mountains are quite spectacular. Chester Group seem to have the knack of finding first rate sites. They will be holding and event there next year. I was lucky to have someone take me to the event and will try to attch a couple of photographs to this note: Geoff Kay |
