Thanks for the acknowledgement its much appreciated.
Would just like to take this opportunity to thank a few people who have helped so much. John and Angie Horne for providing me with the opportunity to drive their horse at this level, Bill Dagg for the kind loan of his dressage vehicle. Tony and Kate, the two grooms I have gone through so far this year *chuckle, chuckle*. And of course ALL my family for their avid support and not forgeting the numerous friends that believe it or not I do have....lol
Cheers James Binns

Farleigh Photos

Fair selection for free download on my site www.mikewatts.com.

I've also found www.pixelphotoz.com who were at the show and probably got everyone - they sell prints through their site.

James Binns is dedicated, eager, and keen to improve anywhere he can. The win was deserved and he has worked hard for it, anyone who puts that much effort into a hobby has earned his success! He is also willing to help newcomers learn the game, something that I, personally, appreciate.

I was watching as a spectator and it was a fantastic experience and great to watch so many competitor performin excellently. I think James Binns deserves more credit than he has probably recieved as if I am not mistaken he has just won his first national event at Farleigh. It was a great Marathon for him and I enjoyed seeing his marathon.

Yes, "Thank you" to all the hard-working organisers, course builders, stewards and unsung heroes/heroines behind the scenes who all contributed to the friendly atmosphere of Farleigh. We "only" did the Club class as I was driving half my pony pair - just 6 mixed turnouts - and had a whale of a time! We did dressage on Friday, section E of the marathon (7.5k) and 6 of the 7 obstacles, cones on Sunday - just like the "real" competitors.

I must say that, as usual, the Farleigh course builders excelled at creating interesting, individual obstacles with plenty of options which, for me, were open and flowing and among the best I've driven at a national event. (Please let's do more of these and fewer tight post and rails clones! Kinder on the horses, flowing to drive, easier to navigate round - and to steward - and much more pleasing to watch, IMHO). TD Richard James' sensitively placed knockdowns added to the challenge.

I hope to be competing at the national again next year but my vote is for the three-day club event as a superb entry-level competition for would-be national competitors, and those with younger/older horses who want a great competition. Just tell us about it sooner next year and perhap more club - future national drivers - will come? Thanks again for a fantastic time.

Of course it went ahead, at least I was stewarding at an event at Farleigh!!

If anything it was even better than last year and must rate along with the very best of events. The organisers are very good at their jobs and the course (Steve Lucas) got a lot of compliments.

The competition in all classes was fierce especially the single ponies, with some unexpected results!

Yes, Farleigh went ahead this weekend with about 70 national entries and 6 club, or so.

We went club, just got home, it was great, thanks to all who worked on it, photos will follow, Mike

Does anyone know if the National event went ahead. I haven't seen any results or seen any notification about if it was cancelled or not.
