It might actually make it easier to attract sponsors to other venues, with the incentive that the National Championships might run there in (say) one year in five. |

I had to laugh at the idea of not getting on the stabling field til 10am Thursday. I travel on a Wednesday, often eight or ten hours. I do so for animal welfare reasons, not to get a tap! My horses get a rest (easy) day on the Thursday to freshen them for the start of competition, and recover from the journey. I drove at Windsor this year for the first time. It involved a long journey. Yet other local combinations will always have fresher horses. So why don't the Nationals move about the country, as they used to, or at the very least to mid country (that is mid GB, not mid England!). Give everyone a fair chance of fresh horses. |
