Hi Hannah. Pleased you are taking this seriously but British Carriagedriving focuses on driving trials, not light trade showing. However, you would do well to have a look at the British Driving Society (BDS) website (www.britishdrivingsociety.co.uk) and also have a word with Barrie Luck. Barrie is a very experienced BDS exhibitor and judge and is currently chairman of the BDS Judges Committee. He doesn't have an email address but you can reach him on 01892 723393 (evenings best). I am sure he will be only too pleased to help. Good luck (if you'll excuse the unintended pun) |

Hi everyone. I'm new to all this. My dad is wanting to do a Light trade class with his milk float at a local County show this summer. I have stressed the importance of correct turnout, but he doesn't seem to be taking this seriously enough to me. I don't know ANYTHING about turnout, so I would really appreciate some help and input from people please. From horse turnout, to float, to what the driver and groom need to be turned out like. I wouldn't want them to get it wrong. I show horses myself, and look on in amazement at how complicated the driving looks. PLEASE HELP. |
