Hi Sam, I run the Indoor carriage Driving at Shuttleworth in Bedfordshire which I guess is probably your nearest event. Our next one is 9th November so give me a call and I'll tell you all about it. There will be a some instructors there who could give you some advice - Sharon and Derek Wootton and Minta Winn. 07977 226330

Hi, Sam, Caroline's said what I would... a lovely driving horse!

There are coaches and instructors throughout the UK and you can find one either on the British Carriagedriving or British Driving Society site to take you to the next stages safely. I suggest you contact your local club or BDS area commissioner and have a lesson or two and/or find someone experienced who will go out with you, then get your horse used to other horses in carriages (it's surprising but many driving horses are frightened when they see another horse and carriage for the first time).

Why not come to an indoor event near you (on foot) and meet your local indoor drivers? You will be overwhelmed with help, no doubt! We are a very friendly lot. See www.indoordriving.co.uk for your nearest event and also some training sessions.

Driving indoors is a great way to get started competing, too. I hope we'll see you around soon!

Hi Sam, your horse is lovely!
I woud really recommend getting some lessons with a really good coach. If you put on here what area you are based in people will recommend someone, there are fab instructors all over the country :-). You need to know your horse will cope with other turnouts before you go anywhere in public for everyones safety. Good luck :-)
