'tis true, Janet - many won't dare to check.

But Bella spotted it straight away. She's smarter than she lets on, I suspect.

Our ponies test electric fences with the whiskers on their chins. Ponies would be very good at physics if allowed into school.

Electric fences don't work when used with rubber matting (it's a physics thing).

As Mary says, you are only allowed one 10' x 10' enclosure at national events (however many horses you have), but at almost all club events your paddock will not be measured.

Read the schedule to see if you need mats. (I could not see any reference to them for Normanhurst...)

Take a sign to say you have electrified fence if you want to be scrupulously correct and, of course, erect your enclosure with consideration for others. See you there!

Annex 16, item 11 of the Rule Book states:

Horses/Ponies may not be tethered at Events. The size of an uncovered pen is limited to 10ft x 10ft, including those formed by the use of electrified fencing. Electric fencing enclosures will be limited to one for each Competitor. Any enclosure permitted by this regulation must be securely attached to a vehicle or trailer so as to prevent it being moved or dislodged by the horse or pony within.

Hope that helps.

Do I have to book a stable for donovan, or is he ok to be in an electric fence pen next to the trailer overnight?

I have been saying all along I was not gonna do Normanshurst, to start with I havent got anything to wear!!! (for the dressage phase of course!!) also I was looking after someones dog for the weekend.
But Sonny is hearing none of my excuses, so he has talked me into going! And camping overnight!! My God, I cant remember the last time I didnt sleep in a nice comfy bed!!
So, who else am I gonna meet there?
