Chris I believe Martyn is wrong, if you want to send your voting form to the conference in the care of a proxy it will be counted. As I understand it it needed to be sent to the office ONLY if you nominated the Chairman to act as your proxy. Quote from James Broome "As you are aware, the system of proxy votes is a little confusing. On the proxy form that I have in front of me it reads, "If you choose the Chairman of the Meeting to act as your proxy please return this form to the BHDTA, East Overhill... at least 96 hours prior to the meeting." Therefore, it would seem that it's only if you want to elect Jock to cast your vote do you needed to send in the proxy form to the office 96 hours before the meeting." Therefore voting is not closed |

Mary Kusin can supply any member a comprehensive breakdown of the total membership. She kindly supplied me last years figures, but they had been boosted by the memberships of the 'vaguely interested' that had cost £30,000 to put through the 'Driving Back To Sport' initiative. |

Hi Julia can you tell me where I can find out how many members there are of the BHDTA. I keep reading about "falling numbers" but have never found the true total. |

To the Candidates, Mark, James, David and Martyn. Despite your joint effort to save me a postage stamp, I would appreciate each of your views as to whether the BHDTA should adopt the FEIs current edicts, that would seem to underline their overwhelming bias for our sport to become dressage based; by the removal of Section A and the 'competitive' Walk from the marathon phase; and the introduction of half marks in Dressage scoring. And are you also in favour of the name change to British Carriagedriving, because very shortly it will be a farcical exaggeration to call our sport Horse Driving Trials? |

To the Candidates, Mark, James, David and Martyn. Many thanks for your candidacy for Council, especially in these precarious times. From the Accounts it is clear we are an Association in crisis, spiralling so rapidly toward bankruptcy, that should the BHDTA pursue a policy of 'more of the same', you may not even complete your tenure. It now seems we need representatives with the courage and imagination to make radical changes to save our sport, as well as run it. As the BHDTA is at a precipice, unable to attract sponsorship, public support or increase membership, I would appreciate each of your ideas as to how we tackle these issues and avoid collapse, other than the begging bowl. |
