I'm just back from a visit to Raehills, the location for the new national event near Moffat in Scotland and only five miles or so from the M74 North / South motorway so really easy travel for all. What a fabulous park - beautiful scenery with everything we need! This promises to be a great event and everyone is working to provide a really super show with trade stands, arena attractions and a fabulous marathon built by the Scottish team who have been responsible for the courses at the Hopetoun House event and the recent Holker Hall nationals. Above all, despite the atrocious weather this year the ground is holding up really well with absolutely no chance of cancellation due to ground conditions. No doubt we have the local geology to thank for that. This year's Raehills event on 25th and 26th August (Bank Holiday weekend) will be a two day Regional in preparation for full three day nationals starting 2013. None the less we shall have eight solid national obstacles - posts are already in the ground - and the enormous advantage that the obstacles will be left in place between events so expect really high standards from the start. All that is needed now is competitor support so don't delay - get your entries in to the entries secretary Maggie Moodicliffe at Cloffinburn, Middlehill, Moffat, Dumfriesshire, DG10 9SW. Closing date 6th August. Schedule at http://www.horsedrivingtrials.co.uk/events/2012/info_2012/Raehills.pdf We're all looking forward to seeing you there. |
