Ruth, it makes it so much easier to administer, having online entries. I am convinced that it's worthwhile, in spite of the small extra cost. If you attract one more entry because of it, it pays for itself. Entries are up to 30 and more at our East Anglia indoor events this season - why, I don't know! But let's hope the interest continues! I think it's the 24/7 society and it's so convenient - no cheque to write, no envelope and eaddress and stamp to find, no need to post a letter... |

Yes there is a bank charge for the organisers of events, it might be a bit much for a smaller club. Indoor HDT has been using online entries this winter with some success, many members choosing this secure and easy route to join IHDT and enter events. It is also easier for the event organisers as it reduces the trips to the bank, also all the information is printed up via a email from the Bank when any payment is made, making life a bit easier for the Secretary of the event. Indoor HDT organise Brighton and Normanhurst National qualifiers (both have Club event) and on line entry is possible to both these events. Just go to events page on this site and follow the links. whilst this would make things easier for one to enter a competition I wonder how much of a problem this would casue for orgnaisers / clubs? I suspect there would be bank charges to administer this process and maybe clubs would struggle to accomodate this. |

Would you like to be able to send your entry to a National or Regional event on-line ? No more printing off forms and posting cheques. Just click on a web page, give your details and pay with your credit card or debit card. Get an email back confirming your entry. And next time you come to enter, your information will still be there. Does it sound like a good idea ? Some event organisers think so. Indoor Driving Trials and the East Anglia Club have been doing this for a couple of seasons and find that it has many advantages. This season it's being introduced for Brighton and Normanhurst Nationals and other events may follow. You can check out their event entry page if you go to the list of 2009 Nationals at www.horsedrivingtrials.co.uk/events/nationals_2009.htm and click ONLINE ENTRY next to the event. Would you use the system. Do you think it's a good idea and should other events introduce it as well ? Please let us know. Vic BHDTA website admin |
