Thank you all for your helpful comments on the Kuhnle. I think we have decided to invest in one (better than our stock market, I suppose). Karen Martin was most helpful and a K-167 may soon make its way to California!
Sincerely,
Janine

Don't forget you can still buy the Dartmoor on your side of the water. One of the best and most stable carriages ever.

Hello Janine

I've driven Kuhnle marathon carriages for years, firstly with a pony team and now a pony pair and I'd say "YES" they are worth the price tag!! The combination of build quality and great feel whilst driving makes then a fantastic carriage to own. Your American Kuhnle rep, Paul and Karen Martin will be able to give you any advice that you need.
Happy driving!

Bennington carriages are great and they have an American agent called Jean Kinsella, she can be contacted on [860] 354 4947 or emailed karst1204@earthlink.net or see Bennington's website on www.beinngton.co.uk.

I drove a rather ancient model ages ago and I really liked it - stable, easy to manoeuvre and went where you put it behind the ponies. I'm not up to speed on their modern vehicles but I think the best makes of carriage are generally better built and look nicer, easier to maintain and last longer - and keep their value better than cheaper ones. I love my Fenix Flyer but I'm not sure you have those in the US. Having said that I'm happy with my Polish vehicle, which is very stable and great value for money.

I hope more people will chip in?

Hello,

My husband and I are new to the sport of combined driving and live in Davis, California. We have a new Morgan horse who has been driven in competitions for 3 years. He worked in a Kuhnle carriage and his former owner recommended it as the safest carriage for the marathon. We would like to hear your opinions as its cost is very high in the US compared to other models such as the Glinkowski.
Is the Kuhnle name worth its high price?

Thank you so much for welcoming us to your forum!
Janine
