I drive my 15hh welsh cob in a hartland topsport 170kg but she pulls it with ease even though i'm not the lightest person and my husband comes out on the back too. He's not light either! We compete indoors and outdoors and can go quite fast with that weight. Or you could consider a weight bar attached to front axle. I don't use one myself but know folks who do. |

Bennington XL - fab, stable, do 3 sizes. Horse weight on smaller wheels we used on our 15hh was perfect. |

HI, a more trivial discussion from the others at the moment, but we need some advice. We have a 15h1 very powerful little horse. He is currently driving a carriage a little over 150kg, I am very worried this is much too light for him. He has only just started competing and not going very fast yet but he wants to! I know what sort of carriage we are going to change to (roughly) but I want some advice on weight. Driver and groom are a maximum of 20 stone combined weight. It will be a 3 phase carriage, I want him still to be able to be speedy where neccessary but safe too. What weight would you reccomend please, we have always had ponies before! Many thanks Nicolette |
