Hi - if possible the best thing is probably to get a competent little rider on him to remind him of his manners. Otherwise try raising your outside hand and moving your inside hand towards the centre (eg further left when turning right - but not past the line of his spine) to encourage him to bend. It will also help if you have a helpful assistant who can tap (not hit as this will likely stress him and stop him learning - if he is nervous of whips then stroking may be more appropriate) him on his inside shoulder while turning (and your rider could do this too if he is being really stuborn about it!). Another way is to long rein or ride through small gaps (eg two cones v close together) which will force him to bend to avoid hitting it. Which of these works best will depend on him - let me know how you get on |

Can anyone give me some advice.I am having great problems with bend right is worse than left. I did obsticles last weekend and just went fast ( did very well ) and let him fall in on the corners but since then he just falls in when turning. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to help. I am sure it is me and the pony who are causing the problem thanks |
