Hi Laura
I competed for 6-7 yrs BDS private driving and BDS exercise classes. You will find much more info at http://www.britishdrivingsociety.co.uk/index.htm
you would also need to be a member of the BDS to compete in any of there shows which you get great insurance through once a member. Most clubs affiliated with the BDS has shows throughout the year mostly at agricultural shows or even probably some of your local shows will be affiliated with the BDS. Take a look at the gallery on the BDS site for ideas what to wear.. There are quite a few people drive Shetlands on there. Take note with the carriages with lamps to the carriages without. Carriages with lamps are Private Driving carriages without is for exercise class.

Hi - hoping you can help me out with some advice! Apologies for the very daft questions

My 4yo mini shetland and i are just getting started out driving - we have all of our equipment and he is going really well and loving it! - now I just need some lessons and we need to get out and about! :-)

I'm hoping mainly to do indoor driving trials with him - but would also like to do some exercise vehicle classes at some small shows
- what do i need to wear for a driven class?
- what would we be expected to do in the ring, and as he's a mini would i be expected to have a groom on board with me, or like the indoor driving could they just be standing by?

Lessons wise - can anyone recommend someone in the Bucks/Beds/Northants area - I am at Hanslope, just north of Milton Keynes, and happy to travel up to about an hour?

Thank you for any advice :-)

Laura
