As an organiser I try to email or post (snail mail) all the 'housekeeping' points /exercise routes/travel directions etc before competitors and stewards leave for the event - my fingers are crossed that they read them before arrival! At Holker for the last 2 years, and at Erddig this year, as an organiser I am 'treading on eggshells' to ensure that everyone is so well-informed that we do not upset the Estates in any way. As organisers we have to work hard, with the co-operation of everyone who attends the event, to make sure the event remains as a venue, though with Holker the demise was beyond any of our control. See you all at Erddig - a warm Welsh welcome awaits!

Go to Hopetoun next year!! It's a long way up but it's worth every mile! They make you feel so welcome. Scenery is is surreal. Just superb!

It shouldn't be difficult for organisers to give out the 'Welcome, where everything is and do's and don'ts' at the gate. The stable manager should have them to give to every competitor on arrival then people would know what's what. Official paperwork with times etc can change so understandable that you get that later - by that time you could have caused a dozen misdemeanors! :o)

I can sympathise with Gemma. I think you have to be a Windsor Park regular to have the faintest idea what you should be doing and where you should be doing it (I'm not but I've rocked up enough times to have a rough idea of the pitfalls!). There is a map of the exercise route in your paperwork but you can't collect it until after you want to exercise. The club regulars know that they can use the practice arena before their test if they've paid extra but no one else knows that until they get told off. I also stumbled across people who had done an entire circuit of Windsor Great Park on a moped looking for obstacles 1 and 2 but they seemed to have enyoyed themselves! That said, I've spent enough hours on the organiser's side of the fence to know the huge amount of effort that Julian and his team put in to give us a good time. All I would say (apart from Thank you!) is that the earlier you give us our paperwork, the less we will come traipsing over to bug you with the same old questions!

Every one has a bad event occasionally Gemma. It's a shame yours had to be Windsor as it's always a good event (despite this year some of the multiples getting a higher score in the cones than in the dressage!!!)
Well done to Julian and the team.

Sounds like you had more fun than our camp. We were in trouble for everything from following the provided exercise route to using the practice dressage arena It was even said to be my fault that the buzzer and timing equipment failed in my cones round. I was spoken to very rudely and agressively all weekend. Not enjoyable at all. Bonus was my pony went well as his first time as a single. Think we will be staying closer to home in future though.

Just to say that Windsor Regional was a great event and really enjoyed it.

Any chance of having the marathon results up as well?

Thanks
