Lovely idea. However, Knowsley Estate is near Liverpool. Eileen lives near Edinburgh. Perhaps one of the North West Clubs might like to follow up this chance. |

Eileen I am really sorry to learn that Holker is off the calendar of National events it was a fabulous setting. If you are looking for a venue in the North West may I suggest Lord Derby's Estate at Knowsley I have spoken to the general office who have requested sending an email with the requirements i.e. the size of the area required etc together with the numbers of people likely to attend general requirements & as much detail as possible addressed to c.bennett@knowsley.com. Just a suggestion. |

Holker was my second ever National competition, and I was absolutely amazed at the superb organization, the stunning location, the friendliness of everyone and the great atmosphere. What an utter shame it cannot be repeated. So sad. |

How very, very sad to lose Holker. We were all sp pleased when it came back on the calendar especially having lost Lowther. Many thanks to Eileen and her team for all the hard work put into it and making it such an enjoyable event. Can Council not find another event in the North West and persuade her to start again. |

Holker Estate write: - "Lord Cavendish has been in full consultation with his Estate Management Team, who have undertaken a detailed review of the 2011 Carriage Driving Trials event, and have concluded that the Estate will not stage the event in 2012." A great pity, as an approximate profit of £2000, and 86 satisfied competitors, had made a very viable event from the Organising Committee’s perspective, with the usual ‘things to put right next year’ to be followed up. A huge thank you to everyone who contributed to Holker 2010 and 2011; so sorry we were not able to continue. |
