Apologies for the bumpy Dressage Arena 2 - the estate planned to roll it but the ground was too hard - an unusual occurence in the Lake District! We will endeavour to do better next year - the Grounds Maintenance Manager already is trying to work out where a second arena can go, without the trek to the dressage everyone had last year. Several of 'the team' only arrived back home in Scotland yesterday after 13 days living on site in our lorries and caravans - many others had also been on site for the previous nine days. We are all absolutely exhausted with the amazing efforts everyone made to get the obstacles, arenas and course ready. Thank you to the 86 competitors who came to support us, and commiserations to those who missed Holker because of lame animals. A huge thank you to the Bowman family for the Barbecue - a really 'big eat' enjoyed by all. |

It was a fab event, we were lucky with the weather, the obstacles were great fun to drive, loved it. Thanks to all who made it such fun - can you widen the road in for next time please! LOL |

echo this, and the gang who are responsible don't have the joy of packing up and going home on the Sunday evening - they stay until everything is put back to an acceptable state. Well done all of you - you are the unsung heroes! Thank you, it was a really brilliant weekend. |

The really amazing thing about Holker is that at 8am the Saturday before the only things in place were the trees! Every obstacle had to built entirely from scratch as well as the normal tasks of painting and decorating. The people who achieved this (mainly the 'Hopetoun' team) will have been on site for almost 2 weeks by the time they leave today having dismantled all their good work. So well done to them all and very grateful thanks from one who benefited from it. |

Thank you to everyone concerned with running Holker Driving Trials. It was absolutely fantastic. Well organised and friendly, a stunning marathon with excellent obstacles, a well-designed cones course that was a pleasure to drive, a delicious Saturday night meal courtesy of The Bowman Family, to whom we are all very grateful. My one and only criticism, and I really hate to criticise, but Dressage arena 2 was not of the standard I would have expected at a National event. Other than that, 10 out of 10 for everything else. And once again thank you for a fantastic weekend! |
