If you drive or ride on Forestry Commission land (or walk, birdwatch, take the dog out, cycle), you are probably aware that the government's Forestry Panel which, I understand, has no equestrian interested party on it, is visiting forests to work out how to best (cynical, moi?) sell them off and stop ordinary people enjoying them free or at all. There's a report on their latest visit here: http://www.defra.gov.uk/forestrypanel/2011/visit2-northumberland/ If you are in East Anglia (or are just interested in saving forests for future generations' enjoyment as well as our own!), please join the Yahoo group to Save the Sandlings Forests, which is also good for keeping up-to-date on the issues and "progress". http://uk.groups.yahoo.com/group/savesandlingsforest/ Thank you. |
