Liquid paraffin applied firmly with cotton wool twice a day...cheap and effective and cleans them too. Don't wash the heels with water at all...the liqud paraffin acts as a cleaner and a barrier. |

We've used a product called " Think Mud" by Brinicombe Equine. It is a feed supplement. It certainly helped one of our Standardbreds who suffers very badly with mud rash/cracked heels. |

Hi Joe, I've used a 'cream' called Camrosa on similar things and found it really successful. They probably have a website, its not cheap but you don't need a lot and can also be used on dogs. Its a bit like vaseline in consistancy but coloured. |

Does anyone’s horses suffer from cracked heels. My Hackney suffers very badly I have heel boots to keep the heels clean and use plenty of sudocrem and heel to hoof cream. Does any one have any better things to use to clear this up.. |
