Adam, I know it can be quite manual/labour intensive putting event results on websites, so I've been working on a more automatic way of doing it that can be used for live results during an event, and or just to post them quickly after an event. Any event is welcome to use my scoring spreadsheet - I've sent it to several clubs - (spreadsheet plus instructions are available free on www.mikewatts.com, remember to check back for updates) That spreadsheet has a button which can send the results direct to a website - you don't need to set up anything extra, it will go direct to an area www.hdtforum.co.uk/scores and people can look directly there, or you can also link so yours appear as part of your (e.g. club) website. Of course it can only post to the website when you're connected to the internet - that's particularly easy at Ashfields which has wifi available; elsewhere you need to use a 'dongle' or connect through your mobile phone etc, or wait until you get home. But either way, you can post the results with a single button press. I'm still improving this, especially the appearance and viewing features, but it is now working and available.... note the Ashfields National results are provisional and partial, sorry. This is related to the system we use for indoor results, which will also have the "one button post" available next season.

Thanks for those score Mike. Still waiting for the FULL official results though!? I understand its not alway possible to post live scores (although Mike seems to have the technology to do it?) but couldn't the scores at least get posted at the end of each day? Congratulation though on what sounds to have been a superb event!

Hi Jackie, I'm scoring arena 2 today and can post live scores here on the understanding they are provisional, just mine, and may have errors!

Would it be possible to put results on the forum nearly "live" for us at home? Mike managed it for the Ashfields club event two weeks ago, & it would make following our friends more interesting as well for us nosy folk!!! |
