Hi Caroline, 12v leisure battery is quite enough! Pulled our pairs carriage up quite ok! If you need help ring us! Marilyn. We got our winch from machinemart very helpful. Make sure the control lead is long enough to get to bottom of ramp so you can load carriage on your own. Also remember you will need battery charger!!!

Thanks everyone, will contact you. My mechanic recommended a 24v winch as I will run it off 2 leisure batteries. What is your experience of this? Any ideas would be fab!

We've got on well with 12V electric winches - on two lorries we've used Superwinch e.g LT2000 from www.machinemart.co.uk - they also have hand winches.

Any advice gratefully received - we are in the process of purchasing a lorry that we need to put a winch in. Can anyone recommend one please? Tips on make, size etc would be great :-)
