Thanks for the reply. Sorry to confuse but the OP was Dave but he has not registered yet and the "emergency" user name and password (New and Pony) would not work so he emailed the message to me and I pasted it in and used my registered name. |

Dear Dave W. (or is it Paul Philips ?) We use an 0845 (non-geographic) number to ensure that if the office moves again to another part of the country, the contact numbers will remain the same. It has been a problem having to change phone numbers several times in the past and hopefully this should now be the last time. Strictly speaking, calls using BT Together Option 2 or 3 are not completely free. The cost of Option 3 is £7.95 per month (or £23.85 per quarter). Option 2 does not work during office hours. A lot of people who are not on BT Together Option 3 or who use a different service provider will benefit from only having to pay for a local call. An 01 number will be available and will be published on the website after 5th November for those who wish to use it. The revenue from an 0845 number is very small and does not kick in until a certain number of calls is reached - at the moment we can't tell if we will reach that level during our normal business. Kind regards, Vic BHDTA website |

Hi I see that the new phone number is an 0845 number which means that everyone will be charged to ring it. Nowadays many people are on Bt Option 2 or 3 which allows 01 and 02 numbers to be called free of charge. Is the BHDTA going to publish an 01 or 02 number? Does the BHDTA take a cut from the charge made by Bt? If so it may not be a bad thing afterall. Dave W |
