Start fees? Why?? What do they subsidise? Not many equestrian sports seem to have them any more Babs |

In MHO I also feel the events will suffer and it will impact on what we had planned to do. We get hit twice as there will almost certainly be a fuel surcharge on the ferries too. I would like to add that, waiving the start fee after 5 events would seem like a kind 'good will' gesture, in reality we are getting nothing. There were 11 (eleven) people who did more than five events last year out of a total of 200+.Why not just get rid of the start fee altogether and make it more attractive to everyone or, go back to horse/pony registration fee, then those that have more and use more, pay more. |

I think events this year will suffer more than any previously - and not just driving events, across the equestrian board I suspect. I don't envy Chris Hillman his job in this particular climate but I think we probably need his expertise now more than ever! And I know all about shoestrings - I consider mine to be shorter than most! |

Martyn, I was hoping to perhaps, for the first time, stray a little further out of the East Anglian Club area this year to do an event in another club's patch, but with Arena UK's cancellation and fuel prices, it won't be possible. Still intend to do a full card in the EACDG manor, but I already compete on a shoe-string........ Dean |

With diesel at £1.46 and rising. What effect is this going to have on the number of events you are going to do? |
