Members of the MDTG Board deliberately announced the new National competition at Arena UK ahead of the BHDTA Conference. Any new event needs maximum publicity. Announcing the date and venue at the earliest opportunity will ensure the organising committee has time to acquire supplies, sponsors, stewards etc and - as the event is very early in the season - allows competitors plenty of notice for setting fitness/training programmes. Arena UK has its own requirements to publicise its 2011 calendar of events as soon as possible and the MDTG Board agreed with the venue owner that we should announce the event collectively. BHDTA was requested to post the announcement on its website at the time but, as Vic has confirmed, the 'formal' announcement will take place at conference. The MDTG Board hopes that competitors and stewards will give this exciting new venue the support it deserves and thanks Nicola for bringing it to everyone's attention via the forum (the announcement has also been sent to carriage driving and other equine publications). Further information will be published in the lead-up to the event; in the press, on the MDTG website (www.mdtg.co.uk) and on the BHDTA site.

Nicola, the dates of next year's National and Regional events have not yet been officially confirmed. An annoucement will be made at the Conference - same as in previous years. We cannot publish dates on the website yet if there is a possibility of them changing. We will endeavour to put the official dates on the website on the day of the Conference for those who are unable to attend in person.

Check out Midlands HDT Group website for details of a new event for 2011. New venue in April at Arena UK. But I have to ask why is this not already on BHDTA website already? |
