Hi Edwina,

You may remember me, we met at Escrick when you came to watch the training weekend and we have emailed each other before. It will be great if you can get your new pony up to our indoor events - all of which are very friendly. If you can, it might be a good idea to get your pony into an indoor school beforehand for a bit of a drive round, as everything looks and sounds a little different to them if they've never been indoors before - there are plenty of schools available for you to do this in our neck of the woods, and the cost is usually about £25 per hour. If you have a friend who could take their horse or pony too all the better. It will give your chap something to look at and they can share the cost. I hope you get to Ledston or Tickhill, best of luck!

Jane

hi, i have been to escrick to meet everyone at the nedtl at escrick and found them very helpful and inviting but due to other commitments missed the PLAE days held there, which was such a shame as they would have been perfect for me and my pony, eddie

I have met you several times and have suggested that you come to the North East HDT events at Escrick which is just round the corner from where you live, but have been disappointed that you have not come to see what what it is all about. Now I will suggest that you come to their Indoor Competition on 31st October at Ledston, Castleford and watch or even bring the pony. Everybody there is very friendly and helpful. You do not have to join the IHDT group for this and I can email you a copy of the test we use. You can look at the NEDTL website for information about their other dates.

Hi Edwina
I feel I must warn you before you actually begin Indoor Trials that your life will never be the same again!!!!!! You will become totally addicted and there is a strong possibility that you will move on from the Indoor to doing the full malarky outside too!!! Be warned! Oh and by the way, Good Luck and I hope you have loads of fun.

Hi Edwina
I will start this off from my own view. What do you need? a set of harness that fits the pony and carriage, whatever you normally use. The carriage - well again it is what you have as long as it is within the rules, mainly width of wheels as per the rules - 125cm. Has the pony been driven indoors before? try to take him/her to an indoor school beforehand or arrive early at the venue and show the pony the arena.
I think that is all that is required to enjoy yourself, add a couple of matching tops for you and your groom and your there.
Now you have just got to learn the P+P test. Good luck you will thoroughly enjoy the events and the company where ever you compete.
Welcome to the world of Indoor Driving trials.
