Janet will be missed, without a doubt, especially at the Indoor Championship where she was a very competitive competitor. Single and Pair.

Janet and Nigel donated a trophy for the Small Pony Supreme Championship after many years of competing at the Keysoe Champs. This trophy will be greatly treasured by all who win it, for it was Janet who helped put Small Pony driving on the map.

God Bless and thank you Janet for showing us what the little 'uns' can do.

Janet Sycamore's funeral is on Friday, 23 October, 3.45pm, at West Suffolk Crematorium, Risby, Bury St Edmunds, IP28 6RR. Everyone is welcome.
Please wear something purple, Janet's favourite colour.

Many of you will have heard that Janet Sycamore lost her long battle with cancer on Tuesday, 6 October.
Janet was a dedicated horsewoman and an enthusiastic pioneer in the cause of miniature Shetland ponies. She put them firmly on the map in the driving trials world, personally encouraging and inspiring many people to follow her example driving singles and pairs.
She began driving indoors from 2003 and then established the small pony class in the EACDG in 2008, with their own trophy. She was a leading light in the East Anglian Shetland Pony Group and also served on the EACDG's committee. She applied her organisational skills and she and her husband Nigel helped at club events, often volunteering to measure Section A of the marathon because the small ponies omitted it.
Thanks to her efforts, small ponies now have their own classes at many clubs' events and, of course, their prestigious Supreme Championship at the National Indoor Finals where the small pony drivers first enjoyed competing together in 2009.
Janet was a founder member of the British Scurry & Trials Driving Group in 2012 and enjoyed their fast and furious competitions at Living Heritage country shows, winning many trophies with her Mighty Minis, Sooty and Sweep and Woody and Buzz. Janet and Nigel, in smart purple and black outfits, took every possible opportunity to show what her little ponies could do and they were always hugely popular with the crowds.
She was a very talented lady in many spheres and a good friend. Our sympathies are with Nigel and family.
