Thanks will give it a go. I'm going to take her back a stage and long rein and pull a tyre for a week or so just to give her some confidence - and me! Thanks again. |

Use a kicking strap from one shaft to the other over the ponies rump. Feed it through the backband and have it quite loose, not even slightly tight. This will stop the back end of the pony getting in the air hence no bucks and they generally soon give up bothering to try kicking. We always use one as a matter of course. |

Please help!! I am very new to driving although not to riding. Our pony was going well in a 2 wheel cart that came with her, but it is not well balanced. We invested in a funbug and I put her to for the first time with it, unfortunately without an experienced driver to check fitting etc. I lead her around the field and she was fine but when I asked her for a trot she bucked and then bolted. The poor thing ended up with a leg over a shaft. She was bruised and skinned the inside of her thigh. I feel terrible, did I fit things wrong? Do I go back to basics now? She bucks ridden (we have had her back, teeth etc done) but had never bucked in harness before. Any advice would be very gratefully appreciated. Has this happened to anyone else? Help please!! |
