Thanks for the feedback and advice. We're picking up the lorry in a couple of weeks so we've got time to get a few quotes and compare cover (just insuring the lorry - not brave enough to tow!)

Keep a copy of your insurance documents in your vehicle or carry them with you. My horsebox regularly disappears from the database the police use to check if your vehicle is insured. Not funny if you are a few hundred miles from home with horses on board.
Check your vehicle is registered by going to askmid.com. Your horsebox may show as DUMMY Horsebox, with no vehicle details. Contact your insurance broker if there's no record.
I had a warning letter after Sandringham despite having insured my lorry with the same insurers for 8 years and renewing its insurance in March.
Please tell your friends!

Depends what you want covered - if towing something with your wagon BEWARE.

We used Organisation Of Horse Box and Trailer Owners for years and they were great. Had wagon covered and a separate trailer/caravan policy so if trailer broke it was recovered and if wagon broke the trailer would also be recovered.

Now with NFU and good for wagon but wont cover caravan.

Hi, I wondered if anyone has any recommendations for insurance and UK breakdown cover?
Many thanks!
