As I understand it citronella is banned from commercial fly sprays by the EU because it can cause allergies, rather than it being on the prohibited substance list

A query at Sandringham - Citronella is banned in endurance - is it banned for us?

I have checked with an FEI Veterinary delegate and quote "It's a Chinese whisper!
No mention that it is a banned substance...."

Competence cards and Athlete Qualification.
All the rules for proving your competence are in Annex 16, Page 89 in the BC Rule Book.

Of particular note is Para. 4.3.1 "successfully completed all three phases, with a minimum three section marathon, at three affiliated club events within the current or previous two seasons.

Athletes must submit a photocopy of a Competence Form signed by the Club/Event Secretary to acknowledge completion, and by the Driven Dressage Judge and the Technical Delegate to signify their approval of the athlete’s ability to enter a National Novice Qualifier class."

NOTE - "Competence forms must be submitted for signature at each event to which they relate BEFORE THE START OF THE DRESSAGE."

Occurrence at Hopetoun - penalty is elimination. Don't let it happen to you.

11.2 Ear hoods and plugs are permitted. Ear hoods may not be attached to the noseband and must allow free movement of the ears of the horse.

Back by popular demand! May not be weekly but hopefully will always be relevant.

From Page 9 of BC rule book - hope you all have a copy?

4. Eliminated (E)
Athletes will be eliminated from a competition as a penalty for contravening certain rules during the competitions.
Athletes who are eliminated may compete in the subsequent competition(s) in the event.
5. Retired (R)
Athletes, who, for any reason, do not wish to continue, may decide to retire during any of the competitions. If an athlete retires in a competition he is allowed to compete in the subsequent competitions in the event.
