The junior championships seem to be going from strenght to strength. Despite the unfortunate ommission of the Irish team due to the problems caused by foot and mouth there was a great turnout. With the Welsh putting forward a team, (Admittedly only four this year but we'll watch this space!), who went on to win both the classes they entered and even a young driver venturing accross the channel to compete for France. This year also saw the announcement of a "Junior World Championships" in 2010, strictly under 18, so we look foward to that with interest. This year also saw the very first team to turn out at the juniors with Peter Shannon making his first and unfortunatly also last (He reaches the grand old age of 26 in January making him too old for the Juniors). As always many thanks must go to all those people who make this event possible, especially to Amanda who pulls everythng together for this great event and to the course builders for spending the preceding week putting together some fabulous obstacles. We have sent some photos of the more senior competitors off to Vic for the photo album but being juniors cannot put most of them online so all who didn't give us your email addresses please get intouch with your name and number and we can sort things out for you. Thanks to everyone for a great weekend. Nic and Libby Castle |
