Hi
I have this problem with a client who comes for lessons. I use a 12inch length of broom shaft and attach the reines across the shaft with pvc tape. This allows some one with the use of one hand to drive or even ride one handed

I have one paralysed arm, and have tried reins with both soft and solid grips. For riding I much prefer solid rungs aka ladder reins. The best website I have found for adaptive gadgets is www.freedomrider.com

They do reinbows as mentioned already, and also driving reins with solid handles www.freedomrider.com/Driving-Lines-Adaptive-Adjustable-Handle-Cotton-Web.html I hope that helps :-)

RDA drivers often use reins with loops on them which allows the driver to shorten or lengthen the reins by using the different loops. Julia Garrett, qualified saddler Cheddar, has made sets of these reins so will know what is required
and she can be contacted on 01934 742367

You could try contacting your nearest RDA Driving Group - they have all sorts of clever adaptations for reins that you could look at - and there are diagrams in the RDA Whips' Logbook, and possibly on the RDA web-site

Hello, is it possible to buy driving reins with handles on the end? my son has real trouble holding the reins consistently in the right place? I realise this may not be totally correct but he has special needs and it would be better for him.
