A great event as usual not made easy by the weather. The team went that extra mile to make it all happen and they made one young lad very happy with their kindness.   Jill Holah Member Username: Jillholah Post Number: 1 Registered: 01-2009 Posted on Tuesday, 31 May, 2011 - 10:39 am:    Congratulations to all the team at Hopetoun who worked incredibly hard to ensure that it was another hugely successful event at this lovely venue, despite the continuous wind. A bad storm at the beginning of the week meant that they had an additional day's work in clearing the course/tracks/arena of branches so that the whole place looked immaculate. It must have been very worrying through the weekend when branches kept falling, but despite all the problems everyone kept smiling! Many thanks to all.   Janet Pilling Member Username: Janetp Post Number: 14 Registered: 03-2007 Posted on Monday, 30 May, 2011 - 9:47 pm:    Due to a bit of a hurricane the cones were very entertaining! I have never seen so many bowler hats flying around and at one point cone no 8 took off complete with balls, cones and number markers!! It was very challenging for competitors and stewards alike and I take my hat off (sorry) to all of those who chased wayward items around the arena. You all deserve a special rosette :o)   Fiona Powell Member Username: Fionap Post Number: 36 Registered: 03-2007 Posted on Monday, 30 May, 2011 - 3:22 pm:    Thank you to everyone for making the event such fun to follow for absent friends and for posting the results day by day and finally so quickly. It looks like it was nail-bitingly close in several classes and I enjoy perusing the numbers. It's nice to see all the results in such detail, especially the cones times and driving penalties.   Philip Brown Member Username: Scdawebsite Post Number: 1 Registered: 05-2011 Posted on Saturday, 28 May, 2011 - 10:56 am:    The Dressage Results are online already and marathon results will follow later today, see www.hopetoundriving.co.uk for more information.
