We have been sponsors of Hopetoun HDT for a few years now (as well as some other bits and pieces in driving trials) and I am quite happy with the amount of exposure we get. Our logo is on the Hopetoun website and we were mentioned in the recent pony Worlds' page and also in their programme. At Hopetoun event our company is mentioned often throughout each day (thank you Andrew Cowdrie!) and we have banners etc around the main arena and on our obstacle. I feel any more would be a bit too much and I personally love the website because it is pure driving with no interference from advertisements. I think it should be left as it is although I do appreciate where you are coming from Martyn. It might surprise you just how many drivers actually thank the sponsors in person for their involvement in our sport - that's a nice thing for a sponsor to experience. I have just come home from Castle Kennedy HDT and made a point of personally thanking any sponsors, officials and stewards that we encountered over the weekend - especially the poor stewards who were stuck out in the piddling rain all day on Saturday!!! They were particularly chuffed to be thanked in person for helping us enjoy our weekend. I think this is more important and it takes so little effort. |

Although we could easily do this, the ultimate decision for including adverts on the front page rests with the Council. Who would administer this and decide who gets an advert and wo doesn't, for how long and what size ? Do people really want to search for text and information among animations and pop-ups ? There are too many websites around that manage to fill their pages with adverts. Also, the more complex the animations, the longer the page will take to load - we still have a lot of users who don't have broadband. What does everybody else think ? Vic BHDTA website |

If we value or sports sponsors why do we hide them on our web site? they are not easily found. Would it not be better for a rolling hotspot scrolling a their logos on the front page? or even a direct link to the list elsewhere on the site? Sorry if this cause's you some work Vic. Just a thought. Martyn Willis |
