July 24 - 26 We had a terrific young drivers trainng camp at Ashfields Carriage Driving and Polo Centre, Stansted, Essex. The drivers ranged in age from 6 to 25 and enjoyed 3 days of driving tuition and practical demonstrations. Thanks go to EACDG for organising the event and to Zoe & Wilf for the venue and catering which were much appreciated. I am just wondering why more children (and parents) did not come. 1. Is it the date? 2. Is it the location? 3. Is it the format? 4. What would make you want to come? 5. Is it advertised enough? It would be really interesting to get ideas as the event could easily accommodate at least another 10 children. More participants means more trainers, more variety, more scope for "on foot" sessions, and would ensure the financial viability of the undertaking. This clinic runs under the BHDTA banner are clubs also running their own junior events? Lets hear what you think! Mary Jane Campbell |
