Hi Patti, We did put out an offer to all the clubs, via this forum in March, to join the new league for King of the Club Cones. The theory was to bring take something, which seems to work so well at nationals, out to the clubs. Unfortnately we had no response from any of the clubs. In the league at the moment we have MDTG, CHDTG and EACDG. Midlands asked last year about the possibility of running it at their events last year, Fiona Powell and I discussed East Anglia at the National Championships and we are on the committee for Chester. If any other clubs would like to run it they are welcome to come on-board. Perhaps some of the club members could give their committees a bit of a prod to email us if they are really interested. We will provide the mugs at cost (club competitors get silver ones with the logo on), we provide a pennent for the season's overall winnerfor each club and also a prize for the overall winner of the league at the end of the season. Hopefully it will run as well as the Nationals version and the club competitors will get some enjoyment out of it. The main King of the Cones will run at most Nationals and Regionals this year starting at Ashfields. If in doubt just email us. |

Hello Northern Plan. It is really good to see you doing King of the Cones again this season but is there any reason why you missed out the Novice National Qualifier at Escrick run by NEDTL the weekend before? ( And no - I wasnt the fastest double clear LOL) |

King of the Club cones started last weekend at the Midlands Driving Trials Group's first event of the season at Catton Park. Angela Flanagan claimed the crown with a speedy 23 seconds under her class time. This sets a high standard for the rest of the season's hopefuls. The King or Queen of the Club Cones for 2010 will be announced when we have the final winners from the clubs taking part in the league this year. |
