Hi folks, we have with us at present a 13yr old gelding that’s on trial but he’s not going to match our mare. Alfred is a lovely gentleman in the stable and enjoys fuss etc. Apparently he’s come over from Holland where he’s been driven, we think in a team. He’s in poor condition now but shows so much potential – he’s a good example of his breed [no papers, only passport] and has good paces. The downside is he needs quite a bit of work & TLC – we’ve had him in long reins and he’s fine when following our mare or walking along side but less willing to go forward on his own out on the tracks – he goes forward but not into your hand, you need to keep asking him on. He will work in the school on his own fine. He’s not worried if you take a horse away or anything like that – he needs to build his confidence to work on his own. He works better in blinkers than in an open bridle so we assume he’ll be green to ride, although we were told he’s a ride & drive. If we had more time I’d stick with him but we haven’t and at the end of the day he will not match Beanie. We’ve let the chap know we don’t want him and he’ll be going back next weekend but he’s asked me to let people know he’s for sale - £1400 ono. Let me know if you’re interested [Leicester].Tel Ruth on 07785 542500 or 0116 2753428 |
