Hi Linda. Driving Back to Sport participants received a Driving Back to Sport membership, not an Associate membership, which is why insurance was not included. Some people chose to pay the balance and upgrade to Associate membership to benefit from the insurance cover. Please contact me at the BHDTA office if you wish to do this. Hope this helps to explain the situation. Mary Kusin BHDTA Executive Officer |

Joe, This is interesting, as I did a 'driving back to sport' course last year.. based at Bennington. We were all given a years associate membership alongside the course.(BHDTA) I asked if we were covered for third party insurance and was told NO we were not covered. Perhaps this was a 'special' deal for the people who did the course. |

Linda if you become a associate member you have full legal liability insurance at home and at events, 365 days a year. Receives BHDTA Yearbook and newsletters, can vote and attend BHDTA A.G.M. and Conference. This also means you can compete at any club event National Novice Qualifiers (including those at National events) and Regional Events. And you can be a groom at club, regional & national events for any one competitor. |

Thank you Matt, thats really helpful. Yes I am competing as novice although still have to get my competence form filled in twice before going on to regionals/national novice qualifiers. Looking forward to the coming season. |

Hi Debbie, Associate Member (Regional/Club/Leisure) Can drive at Club events, National Novice Qualifiers (including those at National events) and Regional Events. Can groom at National events. Has full legal liability insurance at home and at events, 365 days a year. Receives BHDTA Yearbook and newsletters, can vote and attend BHDTA A.G.M. and Conference. Assuming that your competing in the Novice class you can go to as many novice qualifiers at National or Regional events as you want. hope this helps. Matt |

I hope someone can answer a question i have about bhdta membership. I have read somewhere that you can only compete at Regional and/or National level only once as an associate member. Is this right? I am hoping to compete at Regionals and Nationals this coming season so really need to know what type of membership I need at this stage. Thanks |
