As mentioned in some of the other threads we as a group with one of the most exciting equestrian disciplines,but I think that we are very good at not raising its profile. If only every driving member met and persuaded one other person that the sport we take part in was worth having a go at and if 50% of them decided to give it another go then numbers would go up fantastically. We need to invite people to have a go and encourage them both horsey peolpe and non horsey, we get a lot of couples coming to have a days driving here and usually the wife has had horses and the husband has paid but it is usually the husband is the one who suddenly discovers that horses carriages obstacles and speed are addictive and will want to try again. Most of the competitors in our area have either been taught by us or have tried it out with us first so I say to all go and tell people and offer them a ride on the back and you will be suprised how many will come back for more. |
