The sun smiled on East Anglian Carriage Driving Group's Elveden event, 9-10 June. Friday's breezes gave way to a temperamental yet not inclement Saturday and Sunday's early blue skies and later fluffy clouds dampened only those remaining late after almost everyone had gone. We thank Lord and Lady Iveagh for their warm welcome and hospitality - and generous prizes; Harry Luff, TD; Mike Watts and speedy Alayne Gill and Louise Green, scheduler and scorers; Hilary Ray and Nina Snow for steward organising and score collecting; our wonderful stewards, judges and helpers throughout the weekend; Becky Power and the Elveden team for decorating the obstacles and running Becky's Caff; Wilf Bowman-Ripley, course design, President of the Jury and pony-catcher; Zoe Morgan for yet more organising and moving the trailer... and lots more who kindly helped as and when required - with smiling faces. Thank you to the competitors for leaving the ground spotless and for coming to share one of our favourite venues. And thank you to many more for making the event such a great success! We hope we'll see you again at Sandringham and at our other events this season. |
