I would be interested to hear peoples experiences for/against membranes...We put a 'cheap' arena down and are having to do work to the base which has compacted and formed a barrier to stop water reaching the drains. When we redo this part should we put a membrane down before our sand and rubber mix surface? I have heard mixed reports of membranes rising and creating problems and those people saying they are necessary to prevent drains clogging....

We have belvoir rubber strip which we HIGHLY reccomend. But you do have to have a good base and membrane which is essential. The belvoir system is superb and we have had it three years with no maint reqd.It has never let us down.
