You can't view it using that ebay link - it says it has been removed.

I am seekng some cross forum assistance from your experts.

Does anyone recognise this antique tool sold recently on ebay.

eBay recently sold item

A thread has been commenced on Bladeforums to try and identify it.

I doubt it is a professional farrier's work tool but fitting your suggestions could be a 'coachman's tool' used in the service of the wealthy who owned their own carraiges and employed their own staff. I could imagine this being included in the coach's tool kit for an 'en route' quick repair to the carraige horses' shoes if required. This would allow the use of an indoor type pasteboard sheath and would help explain its rarity and 'suberb' condition.
Any assistance greatly appreciated.
