I have also had tyres done by Ray @ Eastern vulcanising - and from my experience graham the problem lies in the rubber you were trying to use on your ECC carriage - I assume that when the tyre came off you sent tyre and wheel and asked to have them re-bonded. therein lies the problem. Old tyres stretch when used and are therefore bigger than the wheel circumference when you come to reattach them. therefore they need more bonding ahdesive which makes the join weaker - so they come apart sooner. Although slightly more expensive, and yes the rubber is a bit softer, it is much better to have new rubber on the tyre. I personaly had a tyre on a ECC pairs carriage that came off and had it reglued, only for it to come off again when it went round a tight corner where there was a lot of sideways force. since sending it back to Ray who was exetremely helpful, he turned it around quickly and the vehicle is now out being used 3times a day with no sign of any problems. My wheel has been fine since the tyre was repalced at Eastern Vulcanising. It has done 3 months on rough forest tracks and while the rubber doesnt seem as hard as the original, it has had a few stones stuck in it and the edges are fraying a little, it is still good. The service from Ray was prompt and I would happily use him again if needed. |

I was wondering how you got on with this. I had a micrasport where this happened. Eastern Vulcanising sorted it out. However, it also happened later on old ECC carriage and the rubbers came off again within two weeks and then again when I sent them to another company in Norwich. I spoke to Renee Schoop who said that it couldn't be done in the UK and the wheels would have to be sent back to the factory. He also mentioned that someone had had a bad experience with Eastern Vulcanising, so I was wondering what everyone's experience has been. |

Could anyone advise me how or where I can get a new tyre fitted to a metal wheel in the Dorset area. I have a Hartland Versatile and Hartland could send the wheel back to the factory but it would take more than a month, and I really dont want to be out of action for that long. Any advise greatly appreciated. |
